I don't have "Python in a Nutshell," but let me ask... do you have a strong
programming background in C++, Java, etc.? If so, you'll probably find
"Programming Python" a little too basic.

For those with prior programming experience, I'd recomment "Python: Essential
Reference."

"Python Pocket Reference" is worth having regardless of your background. A

programming Python is quite good for experienced programmers who want
to learn Python.
It don't tutor on the Syntax, however, so it needs to be complemented
with an introduction
to the syntax. Guidos ebook Introduction to Python, (available with
the Python dist) helps here.
