mime to text in python?

I'm looking for a python program that can:

1) Convert mime to text

2) Is callable from a .procmailrc

3) Would at least keep pgp signed text, if not actually verify the
signatures

4) It'd be beyond cool if it could also render .jpeg attachments as ANSI
text graphics :)

5) Maybe even convert word documents to text

I use evolution, which is a very modern linux (and solaris?) mail program
and doesn't need this kind of stuff, but I've been working with a trouble
ticket system called "train-wreq", which does bad things when it receives
mime mail. So I'd like to strip this stuff out for wreq's benefit.

Thanks!
