Blanket font setting?

RGK
I'm doing an app with the AUI manager capabilities (using some of the
wxPython demo's for help). All is well, except I'm a bit disappointed
with the font management.

The default font for all the widgets (TextCtrl's, StaticText's etc) are
a bit large for my design intent and as I try to adjust that, it appears
I have to do a

font = wx.SystemSettin gs_GetFont(wx.S YS_SYSTEM_FONT)
font.SetPointSi ze(9)

Then, for every texty thing:

myTextThing.set font(font)
someOtherThing. setfont(font)

Thus if I have hundreds of texty things, I've got to assign that
hundreds of times.

Is there any sort of blanket font setting, perhaps like:

wx.SystemSettin gs_SetFont(font ) #this doesn't exist

that could set everything with one fell swoop?

Thanks for your attention...

Ross.

I do this by setting the font in each frame (or dialog); the font
propogates to its descendants.

Hello, I work for a local council and have recently been part of the project for a new website design which went live at the end of september at www.tauntondeane.gov.uk. I set the relative sizes on the CSS so that the page would be best sized with Microsoft IE set to view:text size:Medium(which I assume is the default value) as not many people know that the size of the browser text can be changed.

I've run CSSCheck on my style sheets and I always get a warning similar to this: "font: bold 9pt/100% sans-serif Warning: Absolute length units should not generally be used on the Web ..." Yet if I use 'x-small' instead of 9pt, I get bigger type on IE6 and smaller type on Mozilla. My choices seem to be:

Anyone working on a Mac and not setting any font-size at body level or even p level in their linked css but finding that while sites look good on one's own screen they look too big on Windows machines? In spite of using default font-size (eg. as when leaving font-size out of body or p, my sites look not "mainstream" in respect to font size on Windows machines. When I look at the code of sites I regard as mainstream, they too never seem to...

I am a bit curious about this. The graphic design people I work with say it is their preferred font for web pages. The reason being that it is "kinder" to the eye both in terms of shape and size. The HTML "hardcore elititst" profess that it is a useless font because it is too big compared to other fonts. Personally I do not care one way or the other, but I generally trust

I have heard so much preaching here about how font sizes should be set as percentages so users can change font-sizes on their browsers... ok, so now at work am working on a site where we need to do precisely that b/c it's for an audience that some users maybe be visually-impaired.. but I can't get it to work right, problem is that font sizes are not consistent across diff elements.. code: body {text-align:center; /* to center...

Hi, guys. I'm developing a web application for Sales Department people in my company. I used my 1024X768 resolution and "Medium" IE text size to test my Layout and it worked fine. However, some people in Sales Department use different settings like "800X600", "Larger" IE text size or even "Large font" in Appearance tab in Display Property. Those different settings would mess up my layout. What I want to do is to set font size of labels,...

I've tried <body style="font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica;font-size:0.8em;"> or <body style="font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica;font-size:11pct;"> or <body style="font-family:Verdana,Arial,Helvetica;font-size:80%;"> to no avail. In IE7 it shows up as Medium. What did I do wrong? Thanks.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
