I started writing this list because I wanted to have definite points
to base a comparison on and as the starting point of writing something
myself. After looking around, I think it would be a waste of time to
start writing yet another IDE and so am now thinking in terms of new
features/plug-ins for existing systems.
Right now I mostly use Komodo Personal and it's pretty close to being
what I want. They don't currently support plug-ins,...

ok, i thought for 2 seconds i might have created a Keylogger in python
but i still have one major think stopping me... PYTHON. when i run the
program i have python create a file named keylog2.log and it then logs
all keys pressed/typed in the python IDE into that file. All i want to
know now is how do i hide or background python so that it will log all
the keys pressed outside of Python.
feel free to play around with my program... but...

I have extended the datetimepicker control to incorporate
a ReadOnly property.
I have used the new keyword to implement my own version
of the value property, so that if readonly == true then
it will not set the value of the control and will leave
the checked status of the checkbox to false when a user
selects a new date.
this works fine when using the control on a win2k machine
but if we use it on a win XP box and call

I have a barcode scanner which uses a "keyboard wedge" program so that the
data it scans comes through as if it was typed on a keyboard. I am trying
to have the data in the barcode be displayed in a text box. I know that
there are certain control characters embedded in the data that I want to
display substitutions for in the text box, for instance I want to replace
ASCII character 04 with the string "<EOT>". I have tried doing a simple...

As a complete novice in the study of Python, I am asking myself where this
language is superior or better suited than others. For example, all I see in
the tutorials are lots of examples of list processing, arithmetic
calculations - all in a DOS-like environment.
What is particularly disappointing is the absence of a Windows IDE,
components and an event driven paradigm. How does Python stand relative to
the big 3, namely Visual C++,...

Hi,
sorry for my English.
I'm writing my first python script for Linux for a remote bluetooth
application.
I'm using python-xlib library to send keyboard and mouse events and at
the moment
I can send keyboard emulated input to the window where pointer is on,
i can also move the pointer over the
desktop.
I'm using python 2.5 on a Ubuntu 7.10 system with gnome and compiz

I want to talk to the newsgroup. As I have found that its readers
will be non-trivially attentive, I esteem it a worthwhile production,
for finely divided values of worth & while. (Disclaimer: Don't call
me millionaire; life & money...). It is not clear that I will be
posting code first thing, for a range of values of I. (Yes I have
tackled decentralization and contribution in identity before.)
It's possible that I just like to...

Hi to all
python now has grown to a versatile language that can
accomplish tasks for many different purposes. However,
AFAIK, little is known about its ability of kernel coding.
So I am wondering if python can do some kernel coding that
used to be the private garden of C/C++. For example, can python
intercept the input of keyboard on a system level? someone told me
it's a kernel thing, isn't it?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
