I'm running Python 2.5.2 on Windows XP and need to interface with R,
so I downloaded the R 2.6.2 statistical package and installed it, and
did the same for RPy 1.02 (i made sure I got the version for Python
2.5 and R 2.62.). When I go to the Python command line and type
>>from rpy import *
I get the following error message:

ImportError: No module named win32api

What on earth is win32api, where can I find it, and where ought I to
put it?

hi all, again....
having another problem with python COMs, I run a python script on a
win2000 machine, that uses win32com.client and it runs perfectly,
whereas when I come to run it on a win98 machine (the machine that the
code, when completed, will be running from in the future) it returns

Our python script uses popen to run an application on Windows XP.
The application chokes if the filename given as a command line
argument contains any spaces. It's happy with the 8.3 shortname
notation, though. So given a file with a name like
c:\Documents and Settings\Joe User\Desktop\My Files\foo.dat
I would like to be able to convert this to
c:\DOCUME~1\JOEUSE~1\Desktop\MYFILE~1\foo.dat

Hi All,
I am trying to print a pdf file from python using the Win32api
shellexecute method and am having a problem, or perhaps just a
misunderstanding, with the bshow parameter. Am I correct to assume that
if the bshow parm is set to 0, that the program will not show when

I'm having a problem retrieving the ShortName from a file that was
written by a MAC and only from a Windows 2003 server.
I realize the file has a space after it, but I can retrieve the short
name from Windows XP and 2000;

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
