Hi,
We are planning to have "lecture preparation" discussions in comp3141
at UNSW, where anyone can participate -- not only students taking the
subject.
There is a heavy python component in this class and I was wondering
whether anyone is interested in participating in these discussions.
We are looking for both python beginners and experts.

I have an Access 2000 database for the Habiat for Humanity where I work.
This is the second database I have written and it gets a bit more complex
each time... I have learned much and read much over the last few months and
have found leads to the answers to several other problems I have encountered
with a Google search of past posts/threads.
SO thank you for the help already rendered even though you didn't know!!
My problem...

Hi,
I am running php v 5.0.0 on a redhat box. I have a php script in a
file called p_script_1. I have another small script in file
p_script_2. p_script_1 calles p_script_2 through a system() call. THe
last line of the output from p_script_2 is duplicated. As a test I ran
php -E 'echo system ("ls ");'
<you have to hit ^D after you hit newline>. Anyway, this simple "ls"

Here is my design to build a cyborg.
You just have a search engine, and as the user types in queries to the
cyborg, the program searches for the best possible responses. Then a
support agent chooses a question. Once the question is chosen the
program plays like 20 questions, and the technical support agent can
browse through those questions or move backwards and forwards in the
nest of 20 questions to pick other answers with the search...

Morning,
I've got an ASP.NET 2.0 Web Application. Behind it, I've a
statically-scoped facade/class factory as the business layer, running atomic
functions back and forth from my by DAL.
The DAL returns DataSet objects to the facade, which loads the data into a
memento object to pass to the ASP.NET interface.
For instance, I've got the method Profile ProfileSystem.GetProfile(Guid

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
