Aine,
I recommend downloading the wxPython Demo as it shows how to do most
common tasks and a lot of other cool things as well. It includes code
for common dialogs, such as the FileDialog, which is what I think you
want. The man page for this widget is below: http://www.wxpython.org/docs/api/wx....log-class.html
You can find the Demo here: http://www.wxpython.org/download.php

Hi.
I have tried to add pychecker as an extension to pythonwin. Now I can
have pychecker check the source file that is currently open in the
editor with a single keypress. If someone is interested, here is how
to do it:
Create an empty file in your
<pythondir>\Lib\site-packages\Pythonwin\pywin directory. Give it a
name with .cfg as extension.

Hi,
I'd like to turn a command-line script into a Windows GUI app
using the native widgets so as to reduce the size of the binary (ie.
no QT, wxWidgets, et al.)
I came up with the following list of tools to access the Win32 API:
- PythonWin (MFC) http://www.python.org/windows/pythonwin/
- ctypes http://starship.python.net/crew/theller/ctypes/

I have an Access application that allows users to open up certain
files from within Access (.doc files with automation, .pdf's with a
pdf viewing form). Other formats, we want to use Internet Explorer to
show, using a plug-in).
THis works fine as long as they have the plug-in installed. If they
don't have the plug-in, when I try to open the file with IE, it gives
the old "Would you like to OPEN this file or SAVE it to disk?" and it...

I searched using Google, on the web and in the newsgroups, and found nothing
on this topic. Hopefully that means I just don't understand what I'm
supposed to be doing here. :)
The problem:
I am trying to use the SaveFileDialog class to get a filename, which is
subsequently opened for writing (write access, read sharing, but using
read/write sharing doesn't make the problem go away anyway). Sometimes, on
the statement where I...

The File Download Dialog Box just disappears when either the Open or Save
button is clicked on the Dialog Box, after I let the File Download Dialog Box
stay there for more than three minutes.
The File Download works fine if I clicked the Open or Save button within
three minutes of the Dialog Box showed up. I'd like to have the Dialog Box
works, say up to 20 minutes.
I tried the following code, but it doesn't work.

I'm trying to make an application that will allow the user to enter data into a flexgrid (that's done) and then save the data from that flexgrid into a CSV file but even though the file is made none of the data from the flexgrid goes into the CSV file and so I have a couple of questions.
1, How do I make the application load the data from a specific CSV file?
2, How do I make it so that the user is able to add information to the data and...

I have a working hyperlink field in a table, and it's form. I also have a working File Picker Dialog: FileDialog(msoFileDialogFilePicker), being used to create the hyperlink.
What I need to do, and can't figure out how, is to have the dialog pick a folder, not a file within it. I need the hyperlink to open the folder so the user can then select a file within it to open. Right now, when navigating in the file picker dialog, clicking on the...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
