Hi all,
for a realtime simulation of a video installation we want to
use Quicktime to read video data from a file or stream and
process the data in a realtime Gameblender model.
We are trying to simulate a large-scale, low resolution media
facade using individuell video pixels to control lamps mounted
into the facade.

I have an Access database that has been running fine on multiple
platforms (Windows 2000, Windows XP, etc.) for several
years. Recently, the database has begun to issue "Run-Time Error 2467"
on one XP platform when certain forms are opened. Other forms result
in a total application crash with the resulting "Bug Report" dialog
sequence. The same forms within the same application run fine under
Win2000.
I'm wondering if this is due to...

In Visual Basic 6.0, there was a setting for DLL's that would prevent a
developer from breaking binary compatibility of a DLL by changing a function
name, parameters, etc. Warnings would appear at compile time.
Is there any such thing in .NET? I can't seem to find the same type of
setting, but I do want a way to prevent developers from changing signatures
of functions.
Thanks,
Dave P.

I have posted about this problem before. SInce then I found a much
better article to help with embedding python in a multithreaded
application:
http://www.linuxjournal.com/article/3641
I found this article very good and it clarified for me what needs
doing. Now I have an example application that almost works, but it is
far from reliable. If I run this several times I get crashes telling me
that the heap is modified after deallocation....

Hi,
I am trying to get a small group of volunteers together to create
Windows binaries for any Python extension developer that needs them,
much like the package/extension builders who volunteer their time to
create Linux RPMs.
The main thing I need are people willing to test the binaries to make
sure the extension is stable. This would require installing the binary
and probably downloading the source too to get the developer's test

Hello,
A tool that we use needs to be ported to Itanium. It wsa written
for Python 2.5.2, and so I was happily using the Itanium version of
that release. However, as I have gotten deeper into the port, I see
that ctypes was not included with the Itanium Python 2.5.2 release.
I need to compile that module for that release and platform, but I
have been unable to discover which MS compiler version and runtime was
used to generate the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
