I know, I know - flame away but its not clear to me if Python will run
on a system running Microsoft Vista. Is anyone successfully running
Python on Vista? If so, is it what version of Python are you
running? I'm ordering a new system and if Python won't work on Vista
then it will definately influence the OS selection.

I'm running a web application application using the
Microsoft.Interop.Security.AzRoles version 1.2.0.0 in the GAC.
After an upgrade to Vista, I also have a version 2.0.0.0 in the GAC.
I seem to be absolutely unable to make the application load version 1.2.

Hi,
I'm trying to compile sip 4.6 on windows vista.
I have Python 2.5 installed in c:\Python25.
I have Qt 4.3.0 installed in c:\Qt\4.3.0 together with MinGW in c:
\MinGW.
I have environment variable PATH set to c:\Qt\4.3.0\bin;c:\MinGW\bin
And here is what I did:
C:\sip-4.6>configure.py -p win32-g++
This is SIP 4.6 for Python 2.5 on win32.

When attempting to install Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition onto
Windows Vista, an error message occurs stating that elevation is required to
install. It is on an Acer laptop if that matters and their is more than

Look at Microsoft and Windows apps in Vista.... They aren't .Net.
If .Net is so great, why doesn't MS use it more? In fact, what desktop
applications does Microsoft code in .Net?
I think Microsoft avoids major desktop apps in .Net because the performance
sucks. Look at Symantec's antivirus apps and Franklin Covey's Plan Plus for
Windows and Neat Reciepts and you'll see what I mean. The UI performance
sucks.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
