Processing bbfreeze-0.95.2-py2.4-win32.egg
Removing c:\Python24\lib \site-packages\bbfree ze-0.95.2-py2.4-win32.egg
creating c:\Python24\lib \site-packages\bbfree ze-0.95.2-py2.4-win32.egg
Extracting bbfreeze-0.95.2-py2.4-win32.egg to c:\Python24\lib \site-
packages

Adding bbfreeze 0.95.2 to easy_install.pt h file

Installed c:\Python24\lib \site-packages\bbfree ze-0.95.2-py2.4-

I've recently configured my network such that I use squid as a http proxy. I'd now like to be able to use setuptools and ez_setup via this proxy. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it? The most that the setuptools documentation says is (http://peak.telecommunity.com/DevCenter/setuptools): "....If you are behind an NTLM-based firewall that prevents Python programs from accessing the net directly, you may wish to first install and...

I'm might just be dumb, but I cannot get the hang of usting setuptools based on the docs at http://peak.telecommunity.com/DevCenter/setuptools. Is there a simple example available showing how to pack a few modules, a few scripts, some resources files ( images ) and list a few dependencies ? I've searched google and the links I found seemed to be dead or not about setuptools at all, but as I allready mentioned; I might be loosing my mind...

I get the following behaviour on Python 2.5 (OS X 10.4.8 on PowerPC, in case it's relevant.) (0.0, 0.0) (-0.0, -0.0) I would have expected y to be -0.0 in the first case, and 0.0 in the second. Should the above be considered a bug, or is Python not expected to honour signs of zeros? I'm working in a situation involving complex arithmetic where branch cuts, and hence signed

Hi, I am distributing a package with a precompiled collection of modules and packages useful for Python based medical/biological/astronomical image analysis and algorithm development. (Codename: Priithon). For Priithon I put all modules/packages in a simple / single directory (tree) including one starting batch/script file. This script sets up PYTHONPATH to find modules at this place. It works fine for Windows,Linux and Mac-OSX. Now I...

Can we open up the discussion here about how to improve setuptools which has become the de facto standard for distributing / installing python software. I've been playing around with ruby's gems which seems to be more more mature and usable. From my perspective, the relative immaturity of setuptools and its simultaneous widespread use is a clear python weakness and can make python less easy to absorb than it should be. A few...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
