cElementTree cannot hold ElementTree instances.

error?

#from elementtree.Ele mentTree import ElementTree, dump # This works
from cElementTree import ElementTree, dump # This does not
from elementtree import ElementInclude

etree = ElementTree(fil e='xml_in.xml') .getroot()
dump(etree)

ElementInclude. include(etree)
dump(etree)

for child in etree.find('./included_root') .findall('./*'):
# Copy the child down to the root
etree.append(ch ild)
# Remove the root/included_root
etree.remove(et ree.find('./included_root') )
dump(etree)
<!--xml_in.xml-->
<root xmlns:xi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XInclude">
<child name="first"/>
<xi:include href="xml_inclu ded.xml"/>
</root>

<!--xml_included.xm l-->
<included_roo t>
<child name="second"/>
<child name="third"/>
</included_root>

Hi, I am trying to understand how cElementTree's clear works: I have a (relatively) large XML file, that I do not wish to load into memory. So, naturally, I tried something like this: from cElementTree import iterparse for event, elem in iterparse("data.xml"): if elem.tag == "schnappi":

I am trying to write some python code for a library that reads an XML-like language from a file into elementtree data structures. Then I want to be able to read and/or modify the structure and then be able to write it out either as XML or in the original format. I really want the api for the XML-like language to be the same as the elementtree api to reduce confusion, ease of learning etc. In reading the elementtree documentation I found...

I have an elementtree created with cElementTree. I then use ElementInclude to resolve some xinclude elements. But then I want to move those included elements to be children of the root root.append(included_child) but I get an error message TypeError: 'append() argument 1 must be Element, not instance'

I found an earlier post about subclassing cElementTree.Element which can't be done because it is a factory method. I am trying to subclass XMLTreeBuilder with success using the python implementation, but not with cElementTree. $ python Python 2.3.4 (#1, Feb 22 2005, 04:09:37) on linux2

I'm a computational chemist who frequently dabbles in Python. A collaborator sent me a huge XML file that at one point was evidently modified by a now defunct java application. A sample of this file looks something like: <group type="struct"> <name>Test</name> <param type="string"> <name>File Name</name> <cTag>fileName</cTag>

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
