I've got a nice jython application that I wish to freeze. After playing
around with flag settinsg on jythonc, I managed to get it to compile
without warnings or errors, but when I try to run my main class file, I
keep getting the error: Exception in "main" thread,
NoClassDefFound Error. When I just use "java gui" (gui.class is the
bytecode file), it flags an error on org.python.core .PyObject. If add
jython.jar to the classpath, it gives me the same error on my gui
instead of PyObject.
I figured that testing out jythonc on such a large project, I should
have expected it to fail. So I wrote a one-liner hello world
print "Hello world"
saved it to test.py in a different directory, and tried again to
jythonc it. However, I keep getting the same errors.

Nevermind, I figured it out. -classpath overwrites the classpath....
not augments. I needed to use -classpath ".;jython.j ar" and it works
fine. This thread has been closed and replies have been disabled. Please start a new discussion. Similar topics |

Hi,
Is there such a thing as python applets for web browsers? (eg. such as
java applets?) I think that could be useful.

Hi everyone,
I would like to know if it's possible to use python (libraries) in a
Java Program.
I do not want to use: Process proc = Runtime.getRuntime.exec(command)
I am basically looking for something like the "Reversed" version of
Jython.
Thanks in advance.

I have the following in a jythonc program to be executed in a html
file.
f1 = open("filename","r")
I get message about filePermission read error. Program compiles and
jar file is created. Just the html code gives message.
Any ideas?

Hi,
I have read that this had been asked before but there's no satisfactory
replies then.
I have a module (pA) written in python, which originally is called by
another python module (pB), and passes a python object (pO) to pB. Now I
require pA to be called in a java class (jC) and pass pO into jC. As pA
uses non-python modules, I am not able to use Jython on this.

I have a Jython script that uses Java classes and runs fine using
jython. It also compiles using jythonc. However, when I try to run the
compiled program with the same CLASSPATH, I get an ImportError upon
first Java import.
How can I fix this?

I'm getting started working with Jython (hope this is an ok group for
the question), and ran into a stumbling block using the jythonc tool.
It is a fairly simple Jython script which uses the Apache Batik SVG
library, imports the SVG Canvas, and puts up a simple Swing interface to
let the user load and display an SVG file. (I translated the script from
a Batik Java example.) The script runs fine under jython, but so far
I've been unable...

Most of my ideas seem usless or stupid, but I think expressing them
here doesn't harm much.
This is an idea for Py 3.0, because it's not backward compatible.
Dicts and sets require immutable keys, like tuples or frozensets, but
to me they look like a duplication. So the idea is to remove tuples and
frozensets (and replace the few other uses of tuples with lists, like
the % interpolation), and to add a freeze operation, to freeze lists,...

What is the difference between CPython, Python for .NET, and IronPython?
For example, if I'm running IronPython, can I access modules such as Numeric
and numarray?
As I understand it, interoperability with C# and .NET works in both
directions with IronPython, but CPython modules cannot be imported, or?
With Python for .NET I can import the .NET Framework and continue using
CPython modules, or?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
