invalid syntax - problems with CR (0x0a)

hi,
i'm very new to python and am experiencing the following problem:

an identical program that runs on certain computers crashes on other
machines due to Carriage Returns (CR; 0x0a) that
now appear in the source code. I guess it's some kind of character encoding
issue, i.e. ways of saving the source files...
I spent a lot of time trying to fix the problem but wasn't successful until
now.

Can somebody help me?

Cheers,
Cesare

In the context of LATEX, some Pythonista asked what the big successes of Lisp were. I think there were at least three *big* successes. a. orbitz.com web site uses Lisp for algorithms, etc. b. Yahoo store was originally written in Lisp. c. Emacs The issues with these will probably come up, so I might as well mention them myself (which will also make this a more balanced

I get the following Exception "The data at the root level is invalid. Line 1, position 642" whenever I try to deserialize an incoming SOAP message. The incoming message is formed well and its length is 642 bytes ( I have appended it to the end of this message). I suspect that the reason may have something to do with an incorrect declaration of which class to de-serialize to. In the attached code I substituted @@@@@@@ in the code below with...

This is probably a common problem, but as a novice programmer I'm trying to figure out how to write 0x0A to a BIN file without having it automatically write 0x0D. Here's an example of the code: tmp_ifp = fopen("tmp_name.bin", "w"); fprintf(tmp_ifp, "%c", 0x0A); When I open the tmp_name.bin file with a hex editor you notice that both 0x0D and 0x0A are written. I tried using fwrite, but the same thing occurs. Any ideas?

Hi, Q1: Is there a way to make a template function that works only for specific types which produces a compiler error if used with an invalid type? Q2: If not, how do people deal with this issue? I believe A1 is no. I tried below with template function "f". For A2, functors work but have ugly syntax and runtime overhead. A

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
