Hello,
I revist this every now and then and are still no closer to getting it to work.
I want to extract the thumbnail from a file on windows using either win32com or
ctypes. As described in this link:
http://www.vbaccelerator.com/home/NET/Code/Libraries/Shell_Projects/Thumbnail_Extraction/article.asp
Has anyone implemented this? Or can explain how to do this. Basically it
involves calling IExtractImage from shell32. But I'm not sure...

Hello,
I got it ! There was an example (for Office I think) in the test-directory of
Pywin32, where I have the first lines from. But this is dynamic binding. Can
anybody explain this for early binding ?
And it would be fine when the pulldown-menu in Pythonwin works to see the
exposed Methods of the Type Libraries.

I have just turned on option strict in ASP/VB.net. I started by happily
going through and setting up all of the Dim statements with As clauses, and
making my cast explicit. However, I have now got stuck on "late binding".
After reading that early binding is faster, I think that it would be best to
make everything early binding, but I can't work out how. have but a sample
of my database code below. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

I need to use late binding in a project because it's company standard
to not include references which aren't MS defaults, so I can't add the
scripting runtime.
I need to be able to search folders (and sub-forders) for a file name,
and then copy the file to a specified directory (at the moment it's
C:\TempCD but that will change later.

opening an excel file, i've attempted to grab the chart information
out of the file.
commands like co = ChartObjects(1) works in pythonWin but doesn't
work in IDLE.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
