I'm writing an app that requires a 3-level optionMenu display. Basically
I'm showing the contents of a 3-dimensional matrix. You choose the first
level in the first optionMenu, the 2nd level in the next level, and the 3rd
level in the last optionMenu. Let's call them Continent, country, state.
continentList =
countryList = ,,]
stateList = ,,],]
When I open the window, all is well. I can display the following as default

I would like to link the contents of three OptionMenu lists. When I select an
item from the first list (call it continents), the contents of the 2nd list
(call it countries) would update. And in turn the contents of the 3rd list (call
it states would be updated by a change in the 2nd list. If anyone can share a
recipe or some ideas, I'd be grateful!
Here's some sample code that displays three OptionMenus, but doesn't update the
list...

Is there a way to fill the values in an OptionMenu dynamically? I need
something like the add_command method from Menu. Is there a better way
to implement a pull-down list?

Anybody know how to change the menu button that is displayed by the
Tkinter Menubutton and the (derived from it) OptionMenu classes? I
think it must be something from the Motif look and feel which doesn't
fit with my appl which is designed primarily for running on Windows
and OS X.
The default button visual that appears is basically a small rectangle
drawn in relief inside a larger one. I'd like to replace this with a
downward pointing...

Hello,
The Tkinter OptionMenu widget has me a bit confused. I have set up an
OptionMenu to expand along the X axis as the window expands. What I
find though is that the width of the submenu displaying the list of
items in the menu does not expand.
This is the object I'm talking about:

Can anyone recommend some code for creating drop-down menus in tkinter?
To be absolutely clear, here's an example of a drop-down:
http://www.google.co.uk/preferences?hl=en
(see the language selection widget)
I've found the odd bit of code here and there, such as:

I'm trying unsuccessfully to do something in Tk that I though would be
easy. After Googling this all day, I think I need some help. I am
admittedly very novice with Tk (I started with it yesterday), so I am
sure I am overlooking something simple.
The basic idea is that my application will consist of a series of modal
dialogs, that are chained together in "wizard" fashion. There will be
some processing in between dialogs, but for the most...

Is there anyway to set the individual options in Tkinter to a
particular variable. For example, I have a menu option(code is below)
which has January, February, March and so on, which I would like to
have corresponding values of 01, 02, 03 and so on. Can someone please
tell me how to do that within the context of the code I have below -
or even totally modify it if you must.
Label(self,
text = "Month"
).grid(row = 5, column = 1,...

so my little calculator works perfectly now. just having some trouble
with the layout.
this whole tkinter-thing seems to be more tricky than it should be.
how can i make the 4 column of buttons have the same distance and
size between them as the other 3 columns?
and how can i make the top entry end where the 2nd row entry
ends(meaning the top entry will be longer)?
why are the 4th row split from the others? hard to fix the problems...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
