I'm running Postgres 7.1.3, and just started having a problem where my dynamic site is going down (read-only DB, with no writes happening to the DB) regularly (every other day). I have no idea whay this is happening, and my search of the FAQ's and mail list don't bring up anything. i've attached the error from the log file, at the end of this message. Here's an output of the disk usage from within the DB dir $ du -k . 1716 ...

I am trying to install PostgreSQL on OS X 10.3, using the package from Entropy.ch. The installation instructions there, as well as anywhere else I have seen them on the net, say to create a user (using the System Preferences pane) with a shortname "postgres". The problem is, this user already exists in my netinfo database/domain, and so I cannot either create a new user with the same short name, or use this user, because I do not know...

I believe I have found a bug in Dr Sosman's getline_test program, which is one of the official newsgroup programs. Debugging information follows. $ gdb ./getline_test GNU gdb 6.3 Copyright 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. GDB is free software, covered by the GNU General Public License, and you are welcome to change it and/or distribute copies of it under certain conditions. Type "show copying" to see the conditions.

Hi... got a short test app that i'm playing with. the goal is to get data off the page in question. basically, i should be able to get a list of "tr" nodes, and then to iterate/parse them. i'm missing something, as i think i can get a single node, but i can't figure out how to display the contents of the node.. nor how to get the list of the "tr" nodes....

i'm getting the following error: mechanize._response.httperror_seek_wrapper: HTTP Error 500: i'm running python 5.1 and mechanize 0.1.7b I have no idea as to what I have to change/modify/include to handle this issue. The link that I'm testing is at the bottom of the page. When I insert the link into the browser, I actually get an err page.. so, I suspect that there is a handler that I should be able to modify/use to handle this

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
