Question about Enthought python distribution

Hi!
I have been using the python 2.3.3 distribution from Enthought Inc because
it has most of the libraries I use included.
Does anyone know when Enthought will release the python 2.4 distribution?
Thanks.

The next release will be based on Python 2.3.5. They probably won't
release a 2.4-based version for some time. They use this distribution as
the base for the software they write for their clients, and they don't
have current intentions to develop against 2.4 quite yet.

Several people asked me for the following HOWTO, so I decided to post it here (though it is still very 'alpha' and might contain many (?) mistakes; didn't test what I wrote, but wrote it - more or less - during my own installation of Python 2.3 on Fedora Core 1 Linux for a friend of mine). Anyway, HTH, L.

After installing Enthought's python and typing 'python' from within cygwin the program hangs with no output. I do not remember this being the case with earlier versions of Enthought python. Is this version not compatible with cygwin? Or, is there some configuration file that needs changing? It does run successfully with 'python somecode.py' -but without printing out intermediate results. Thanks! -Roger Jones

It's finally happened, `Movable Python <http://www.voidspace.org.uk/python/movpy/>`_ is finally released. Versions for Python 2.3 & 2.4 are available from `The Movable Python Shop <http://voidspace.tradebit.com/groups.php>`_. The cost is £5 per distribution, payment by PayPal. £1 from every distribution goes to support the development of `SPE <http://pythonide.stani.be/>`_, the Python IDE.

Hi, I am exploring the possibility of using python as a replacement of MATLAB when I leave school. So, I've been playing with matplotlib and have run into some weird behavior after recently installing python 2.5.1 and matplotlib 0.90 on my Windows XP machine. Here's an example of what I see:

I have always thought this idea very good, but if I download it and install it (on my MacBook pro) will any conflicts occur with existing bits and pieces of Python and its libraries? Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
