Simple sizer question

I have a SplitterWindow and two panels p1 and p2 in it.
I can put GenericDirCtrl into the left panel (p1),
however it (DirCtrl) stays small. I'd like to stretch it in the whole
of p1. The following code doesn't work, please help.

dir3 = wx.GenericDirCt rl(p1, -1, size=(-1,-1), style=... etc)
p1.sizer = wx.BoxSizer(wx. VERTICAL)
p1.sizer.Add(di r3, 1, wx.EXPAND)
p1.SetAutoLayou t(True)
p1.SetSizer(p1. sizer)
p1.sizer.Fit(p1 )

Hello, I need some help with the design of a "dynamic" wxDialog. The dialog window is divided into several sizers, the first contains a wxComboBox. When choosing an entry from this wxComboBox, a second sizer (RowColSizer) will be populated with some controls, the number and type of which will depend on the selected ComboBox-Entry. That works...

When creating a new sizer which sits itself in its parent sizer, should I add the new sizer to the parent sizer and then populate the new sizer with its controls (some of them might be sizers on their own) or should I...

Sorry for posting here again. I tried the wxPython list but I'm not sure I'm sending to the right email address! It bounced back. Besides, your opinions are too good to pass up. ;) My question was: I was wondering, is it recommended to always have a top-level sizer in which you place all other sizers, or is it acceptable to have mulitple...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...
