I use a notebook (win 98) because of its portability. Unfortunately it is very slow. When I try to develop and test python cgi scripts I use Xitami as a local server, but with python, Xitami, and my text editor running it becomes next to impossible to work. The keyboard and mouse are slowed to painful levels. Actual execution of the webpage/script is tolerable, but to edit I have to stop the server. I was wondering if using...

i was looking at twisted but it appears to be WAY beyond my megar skills at this point. so i think CGIHTTPServer will fit my needs if it is pretty stable. I have a small python cgi that i was building and i had this great idea of having the cgi server kinda rolled into it for various portability reasons and maybe some future features that would not have apache to realy on. When I run a CGI script (Python) with Python's CGIHTTPServer, it should run with the UID of the user 'nobody' (as the documentation says). But if I let the CGI script e.g. create a file, it creates the file with the UID of the user who started the CGIHTTPServer. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, The CGIHTTPServer returns self.send_response(200, "Script output follows") before it starts the cgi process. This means you cannot set the status header to 302 for a redirect.

Hi, I'm using CGIHTTPServer (via its test() method) to test some CGI on my Windoze 98 box. I find that the execution is very slow. Is there anything I can do to make sure I'm getting the best performance out of CGIHTTPServer? Thanks in advance, Johan --------------------------------------------------------------------

I took some time to write this HOWTO: http://sparcs.kaist.ac.kr/~tinuviel/fepy/howto/simplehttpserver-ironpython-mono-howto.html IronPython seems to get much less interest than it deserves. This howto shows how to setup IronPython to use with Mono on Linux and how to rebuild IronPython from source. It also discusses various patches to current problems. It also shows that IronPython can run SimpleHTTPServer today, not a trivial...

Hi there, Perhaps someone can help me. For some reason, when my Python script runs and loads an HTML page in a new browser window at the local host (desktop), the links to my stylesheet and all the images are broken. I did check the HTML file by itself...everything loaded fine ;) Here's my script: -------------------- # File: webbrowser-test.py

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
