Python Win32 & TWAIN scanning?

Hello everyone.
I am very much enjoying learning python. I am fiddling with a project
that I've decided to use on the Win32 platform. I'd like to be able to
scan a document as a graphic and save it thru Python to a file. I believe
that on Windows, all scanning is done thru the TWAIN interface. I'd like
to use a USB scanner. I've googled for info. regarding Python, PIL, and
scanners but haven't seen anything related to what I'm looking for. Can
anyone out there 'bump' me in the right direction please?

Thank you!

Is there an Expect-like module for Python that is cross platform and, for the most part, does what Expect does? A number of years ago, I wrote some Tcl scripts using Expect for automation. I am trying to convince my good friend who I worked with at the time to try Python. He said, "what about Expect?" I have heard of a Pexpect but was told...

What packages,...

Anyone having experience with Kevin Gill's TWAIN module (from www.sourceforge.org)? Seems that a user MUST be logged in on the computer (Windows 2000) to be able to scan on a TWAIN-scanner? Trying to create a network-attached scanner service, so I would like to avoid having a user logged in on the scanner-computer. ------- Tomas

Hello, Has anyone had any success with python twain? I've downloaded it and run the module however, I'm getting a python core crash when calling to SourceManager.OpenSource. Needless to say, I've already tested the scanner with a twain based application and it didn't crash it so I'm guessing that the issue is with the python twain and not...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
