How can I give a user-defined object session scope? From
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/server/iis/default.asp?url=/windows2000/en/server/iis/htm/asp/iiwaobu.htm
I gather that it can be done, but there are no examples. Simply setting
Set Session("tag") = new MyClass
doesn't work.

Hello,
I am trying to develop a book tracking application for my capstone in
school, and am running into a problem.
The application is an ASP.Net application written in C#. The first page you
go to is a login form, which will set several session variables with the
name used to log in, appropriate security level and some other misc
variables, and then will go to a main menu for each particular security
level using Server.Transfer. ...

Hi,
This isn't a mission critical question but I thought I'dl throw it out there
for your feedback as it's a bit curious.
I have developed a shopping cart for an application I'm working on which is
loosely based on the e-commerce example in the quickstarts tutorial.
In the cart display I have provided functionality so that when a user clicks
on a product name a popup is opened with the full product details displayed.

Hi,
Apologies if this is a newbie question, I haven't found the answer in
any faqs.
I have an asp.net 2.0 page that sets session variables and then
redirects to another page. For the page that gets redirected to, I've
swapped in a simple page for testing that reads the session variables
and displays their values.

I have an ASP page that is using an XMLHTTP object to request various
pages from my server. I keep a single session throughout the XMLHTTP
requests by bassing the ASPSESSIONID cookie through the XMLHTTP object.
However, when the page requested through the XML object makes a
<%Response.Redirect()%>
call, a new session is created each time.
Is this a flaw in the XMLHTTP Object? How can I force the session to
remain the same after a...

Greetings! I was researching AJAX to provide a solution to displaying status
messages while a long process executed. I found several examples online and
was able to use their code to get a quick application working. However, when
attempting to implement the solution, the AJAX calls weren't updating the
screen like the examples were and seemed not to fire until after the long
running process had completed.
I found the only real...

I'm currently developing a small MVC framework using classic ASP
(don't ask me why!) At it's core it calls the controller script which
does the heavy logic and builds disconnected recordsets of the
required data then transparently "includes" a page template asp script
using a Server.Execute.
Because of the limitations of Server.Execute and Server.Transfer the
data generated by the controller needs to be persisted past the
Server.Execute...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
