hello, i'm fairly new to python programming and programming in general, but
i have written a python prog that creates a MIDI file (.mid) and I want to
be able to play it from another prog which is written in BASIC.
It's a command-line prog that takes the MIDI filename as a parameter and
plays the file.
The 'Learning Python' book talks about...

Can I run pythonw with a script that takes command line arguments then
launches a GUI? I try pythonw myscript.pyw -option arg (etc.) and
nothing happens. Nothing, as in I am immediately returned to the DOS
prompt.
I just started learning Python a couple of weeks ago, so please bear
with me. I have a script that(for now) uses command line...

Hi all,
I'm posting partly so my problem and solution might be more easily
found by google, and partly out of mere curiosity.
I've just spent a frustrating bit of time figuring out why pydoc
didn't extract a description from my module docstrings. Even though I
had a well formed docstring (one line, followed by a blank line,
followed by...

Hi,
My first post here. I've found some serious accessibility flaws in the
Python 2.4 docs and wish they could be rectified over time. I'm very new to
Python and initially contacted docs at python org, However, I haven't gotten
a reply for a week or so, and figured out I could post here for a larger
audience, then.
Original message...

I recently resolved an issue I had with passing a variable to a call
shell command, but now I need it to pause or leave the window open so I
can manually close it. Below is my code, and I am not sure where to
begin to keep the DOS window from closing.
Dim stAppName As String
Dim stIPAddress As String

I am looking for a way to run DOS-type commands from within a VB.net 2003
application.
I also need to be able to answer questions (ie 'Are You Sure') that the
command line may require.
Thanks,
Atley

Hello All,
I am helping someone write a python script to run their DOS application
through an SSH terminal. It seems that this program wants to access a
DOS shell and send output there. If running remotely, this causes a
problem because it locks up the program. The program seems (to me) to be
looking for some non-existant DOS shell to send...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
