I'd like to have a string assigned the value of a DateTime.AddMinutes(amount) so that the string is formatted in "HH:MM" format. For example: DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(30) returns "00:30" DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(90) returns "1:30" or "01:30"

Hi, Sorry for the confusing subject, but here is what I am after: I am using the 'System.Drawing.FontStyle' object, and I would like the caller of the function to be able to decide when calling the function what style to use. Hmm even more confusion, methinks. Here is some pseudocode for what I want to do: //calling the function CreateGifImage("Bold");

Hello everybody, Jay and Herfried are telling me every time when I use CDate that using the datetime.parseexact is always the best way to do String to datetime conversions. They don't tell why only that I have to listen to them because they know it better. They told also that in a business situation it is better to use datetime.parseexact for changing cultures and not to use the globalization setting. I did not give them this sample,...

Hi all, I am having a memory blank at the moment. I have been writing in C# for a number of years and now need to do something in VB.NET, so forgive me such a primitive question. In C#, I test whether a string has a value or not by the following syntax: if (thisString.Trim() == "") {

When getting data from a database using the dbapi and an SQL query, how do you in general round trip the data? Especially date-time? An SQL datetime column translates nicely into a Python datetime (surprise), which then translates into a string like '2005-08-03 07:32:48'. No problem with that -- all works quite nicely, until you try to put data back the other way.

Hi all, I am using a 3rd party program in a VS2005 web project. The tool takes as input a string containing HTML and converts it to RTF. I have been creating a page by dynamically loading UserControls and then sending the page to the browser. Now I want to write the contents of the the page to a string variable, convert that variable to the RTF and send that to the browser and I am stuck on the "simple" part of getting the contents of...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
