I've got a package that includes an extension that has a number of header files in the directory with the extension. They are specified as "depends = " in the Extension class. However, Distutils doesn't seem to do anything with them. If I do an sdist, the include files aren't added to the tarball. If I do a bdist_rpm, the source files get copied into the build directory and the build starts, but the header files aren't copied with the...

Now that I've got my extension building machine using the VC++ Toolkit 2003 up and running I'm keen on using Pyrex (Pyrex-0.9.3, Python-2.4.0). But the definition of the swig_sources() method seems to have changed. When I try to build the examples from Pyrex I get a TypeError: c:\Pyrex-0.9.3\Demos> python Setup.py build_ext --inplace

Following the directions in "Python in a Nutshell" (an excellent book), I entered the C code for "helloworld.c", saved it as a file, and entered this script and saved it as setup.py: from distutils.core import setup, Extension setup(name='helloworld', ext_modules= )]) Then, following directions, I type "python setup.py install" from a C:\> prompt. I get these messages:

Hi all, I suspect that I'm doing something stupid, I would like some other opinions though. I'm getting started with ctypes and am trying to use distutils to help build my module. At the moment I simply want distutils to build a shared c library (not a python extension!). Under linux, the following works, under windows xp id doesn't (which I guess is obvious, but the linux success lead me on). I have two files at the moment...

Hi, I am trying to get a small group of volunteers together to create Windows binaries for any Python extension developer that needs them, much like the package/extension builders who volunteer their time to create Linux RPMs. The main thing I need are people willing to test the binaries to make sure the extension is stable. This would require installing the binary and probably downloading the source too to get the developer's test

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
