how can I use Berkeley DB XML 1.1.0 from Python 2.3 (on Windows) ?

I found Berkeley DB XML while searching for XML-Databases.

I want to use it from PYHTON - and I found examples.py in the
distribution. But... examples.py tries to import

from dbxml import *
from bsddb3.db import *
I do not have dbxml or bsddb3 on my computer ... using Python 2.3, I
think bsddb3 is superceeded by bsddb

but where do I get dbxml?

Googling gave me a some hits, but they all appeared to be other dbxml
modules than being connected to berkeley db xml

reading the FAQs pointed me to installation-instructions on MAC OS, they
were still dealing with installing bsddb3 ... as much I understand from
"python 2.3 what's new" - bsddb3 ist integrated. No word about Module /
package dbxml there, either.
Tnx

Harald

I've been trying to get Tix running with Python on Windows. Since there is no binary distributions of Tix for Windows, it seems the easiest way to install Tix is through IDiscovery's IDEStudio 1.9 (http://starship.python.net/crew/mike/Idle/). This went fine and I ran the "Install Tix into Python" option at the end of the installation, with the target Python installation being the Python 2.2 I just mentioned. I also ran the "Run Tix...

This seems like a simple question but I keep looking and can't seem to find it anywhere. Do I have to check it out directly from CVS. Is there anywhere I can download the source already compiled. All I really want is to be able to compile PIL. Thanks Joey

I am developing an application for a client that will have data in a MS SQL Server database. Costs have to be kept down so I have to develop using the free version of any and all tools I may need. I have the SQL Server installed, running on Windows XP. I was going to develop the GUI using wxPython. My only obstacle so far is having Python (wxPython or just plain Python) connect to the database. Is there a way to use Python (installed...

Hi, I can find a few questions regarding the use of distutils for making non-python windows installers, but none of them really helps. Are there any pointers on how to do this? Can it be done? A little OT: What about making MSI installation files instead of .exe? Is it a good idea to consider at all?

I downloaded python-2.5.msi and installed it. I believe its editor is IDE. I understand there's a Win editor called pythonwin. I believe it's in the download pywin32-210.win32-py2.5.exe, but I'm not sure if this exe file has just the editor or all of Python. Comments? If not how do I get the PythonWin editor by itself? BTW, one of the features I did not like of IDE is the limited file Print command. It puts everything in 16pt type, and...

I am trying to install Python 2.5 on Windows XP. It installs into the root directory on C:\ instead of C:\Python25 which it shows by default as what it plans to install to. Selecting D:\Python25 on a previous iteration put the exe in D:\ and did not create a Python25 directory. On the most recent iteration, when requesting an install to D: \Python25 it appears to have put files on C:\. I am installing on Windows XP Professional. When it...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
