python plugin for excel (ala gnumeric)

Hi,

I've read lot of messages on googlegroups without finding what I'm
looking for :-(

I need a plugin that enables me to access a python VM directly from
excel (the COM server path is not satisfactory as it uses the
registry).

Grosso modo, if I have the equivalent of the python module/plugin of
gnumeric (http://grub.ath.cx/gnumeric-python/ or
http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~ctwar...th-python.html) it
would be great !

tx for any hint

The Excel add-in works (I thought) through COM, so I don't
know if what you want is possible.

Excel and Outlook use the same API. The route I took to figure
Excel's out was to start with Mark Hammond's SpamBayes Outlook
add-in for clues, combined with the VBA help for Excel and plenty
of web searches for the relevant functions.

Hello List, Maybe someone can help me with some hobby project... I'm currently searching for a way to convert photos to assci-art files ready to print out, which means to a postscript or pdf file, which contains many many letters in some non-proportional font which together look like the photo. Currently I'm using gimp (for looking up image size)

I've got a slight problem... and I'm stuck as to where to go with it... I'm running on Redhat7.2, using Python 2.2.2 I've got a compiled module that I wrote almost a year ago - it works fine, and I've never had any problems with it... I also did an extension to a plugin (Shake) using Python, so the plugin loads a python module and calls various functions in there.... all in all, fine - I thought I had my head around the system, and...

Hello, this is a potentially veeery dumb question, but: - If an application supports VBA as a macro language, - and if you can execute Python code from within a VBA script (how?) - and if the application exposes its VBA scripting interface through COM then it should be perfectly possible to entirely replace VBA in nearly

within a python script, I like to create a collection which I fill with values from an external text-file (user editable). How is this accomplished the easiest way (if possible without the need of libraries which are not part of the standard distribution)? something like: text-file: {peter, 16},

Hi, I'm now making a plug-in for a CG software. I embed Python in a plugin and it works. The problem is that it conflicts with other plugins that also embeds Python because it runs in the same thread. I don't know when Py_Initialize() and Py_Finalize() are executed because I don't know when user loads/unloads a plugin that embeds Python. Is there any right way to embed Python in a plug-in under the following conditions? If not, what...

Hello, I've been trying to install Gnumeric via MacPorts recently, but I can't get past the installation of py25-numpy. It appears that python crashes consistently during installation. I'm not sure if this is related to python itself, but I just thought I'd ask here, just in case anyone else was aware of this problem. I did have a few problems during the installation, so perhaps it might be related to them? Is there anyway to check...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
