I think that the guy (Alan Green) is very scared :)
I read also a funny (but clever) comment to that post (the first one):
"
True, True. In fact, we should boycott Java, too. C is the way to go! (Or
Assembler? Or just write the binary code by hand?)

This may be a dumb thing to ask, but besides the penalty for dynamic
typing, is there any other real reasons that Python is slower than Java?

awhile back, eBay decided to switch from a Microsoft/.NET/Windows
architecture on the backend to a J2EE one, which might explain why their
java backend will handle up to 1 BILLION page views a day! the funny
thing was eBay was one of the major case studies for .NET at the
beginning, when there was still some hype about it.
interesting post about a few java case studies:

Hi All,
I am currently trying to decide between using python or java and have
a few quick questions about python that you may be able to help with.
#1 Does python have something like javas .jar packages. A jar file
contains all the program files and you can execute the program with
java -jar program.jar
I am sort of hoping python has something like this because I feel it

I'm a C#.NET developer, but I have not used Java.
Now there's a tool (a component) that has good functionalities
implemented in Java we plan to use. There are other tools implemented
in C#.NET but seem weak compared to the Java tool.
Although I hesitate to learn a new computer language (expecially
something like Java with a lot of interface stuff), I don't want to go
with the second best option (implemented in C#) just to avoid the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
