In a recent thread, RKC (correctly, I believe), took issue with my use of
multiple parameters in a Property Let procedure to pass dimensional
arguments on the basis that, although it works, it's not obvious how the
code works if you don't know the intricacies of the Property Let/Get
syntax. Likewise, I dislike (and code to minimize the use of) the VB/VBA
syntax of returning a value by referring to the function name as if it were
a...

I have been using the following function to test the speed of various
functions, however, quite often the return value is zero.
I'm hoping someone can help improve on this.
Function TimeIt() As Single
On Error GoTo CodeErr
'PURPOSE: Times a process in seconds from start to finish
'USAGE: msgbox TimeIt
Dim sngStart As Single

Normally the debugger (visual studio .net environment) is good at pointing
out the line of code that caused an exception.... except when that code is
executed as part of a timer handler. In the case of the code below the
exception is handled by a little dialog that tries to tell me how to switch
on jitDebugging. (which, if I am doing it correctly doesn't seem to help).
All three options are checked under...

I would like to generate every unique combination of numbers 1-5 in a 5
digit number and follow each combo with a newline. So i'm looking at
generating combinations such as: (12345) , (12235), (55554) and so on.
What would be the best way to do this? So, basically i'm looking for a
list of all combinations of 1-5 in a 5 digit unique number. Also, when
I send the list to print there can't be any duplicates of the combos.
Thanks,

I have a .net service that runs a System.Threading.Timer. The delegate
points to the function that the service should execute when the timer
elapses. Problem: The timer is not ticking.
I have never used this timer. I used the documentation from Microsoft
as a guide, but I cannot get this timer to work.
Protected Overrides Sub OnStart(ByVal args() As String)
Dim myTimer As New TimerState()

Hi
Does anybody know how to pass multiple arguments to the function
tested in timeit.timer() in
python?
I googled and found how to pass one argument:
x=10000
mytime = timeit.Timer( setup="from Createlst import createlst", stmt=

Will len(a_string) become a_string.len()? I was just reading
http://docs.python.org/dev/3.0/whatsnew/3.0.html
One of the criticisms of Python compared to other OO languages is that
it isn't OO enough or as OO as others or that it is inconsistent. And
little things such as this seem to support those arguments. Not that it
matters really... just seems that classes with methods used in a more
consistent manner would be more appropriate in...

I am performing simulations on networks (graphs). I have a question on
speed of execution (assuming very ample memory for now). I simplify the
details of my simulation below, as the question I ask applies more
generally than my specific case. I would greatly appreciate general
feedback in terms of computing and of course considerations specific to
implementation in Python.
The nodes in my network may be ON or OFF. The network starts...

ONU (Optical Network Unit) is one of the key components for providing high-speed Internet services. Its primary function is to act as an endpoint device located at the user's premises. However, people are often confused as to whether an ONU can Work As a Router. In this blog post, we’ll explore What is ONU, What Is Router, ONU & Router’s main usage, and What is the difference between ONU and Router. Let’s take a closer look !

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
