I'm not new to Python, but new to databases and PostgreSQL.
I like to write a PostgreSQL client application (not code
running inside of the RDBMS), and Debian has four modules:
python2.3-pgsql - A Python DB-API 2.0 interface to PostgreSQL v7.x
python2.3-popy - module providing access to PostgreSQL from Python2.3
python2.3-psycopg - Python 2.3 module for PostgreSQL
python2.3-pygresql - PostgreSQL module for Python

Hi
I have install bin pack of PostgreSQL 7.3.1 on Windows 2000 Server,
i try to run it as LocalSystem User, but dosen't work I download libpq.dll
and put it on C:\Winnt\System32 but this don't help - what can I do to run
this service ??
When i try to do that I have error like this:
Can't find describe for id (0) in source ( PostgreSQL Server ). Mayby local
computer dosen't have required registry or dll files neaded to show message...

Folks,
I'm trying to port a PostgreSQL application to DB2 LUW 8.2.2 (Win32, if
you must know). I've searched the web and can't find any guide to migrating
from PostgreSQL to DB2, even on the IBM web site.
This is my first crack at migration, and to make matters worse, this is
my first exposure of any kind to PostgreSQL. Does anyone have any pointers
they could share?

For ease of configuration and other reasons, I would like for my
single-user GUI app to be able to use postgresql in-process as a library
accessing a database created in the users home directory. I think I
could possibly get what I want by launching a captive copy of postmaster
with appropriate args but it seems conceptually cleaner to not have a
seperate process at all. Has anyone tried to do anything like this?
