I'm trying to build a completely plug-in based system. One of my
problems is importing a package dynamically. I'm trying to emulate the
import command. The __import__() function or imp module doesn't help me
much because they only return the module. I want to register the module
with it's name in the current namespace. I can do it by:
globals() = __import__(module_name)
But I don't think it's a good thing to access the global namespace...

in order to monitor mainboard sensory data
as fan speeds, temperatures, applications
like SpeedFan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
or MBM http://mbm.livewiredev.com/
can be used.
Both of the mentioned apps expose data got
from the hardware in a shared memory area.

Hello,
I created a simple C# library assembly that exposes general facilities I
would like to use in my ASP.NET web applications. If I added the assembly
into the bin directory of my asp.net app, the runtime finds the assembly
without a problem and resolves any references to the classes exposed by the
assembly. However, I do not wish to deploy the assembly into each bin
directory for each web application. I would like to specify the...

Hi all,
In my VB.NET code below, I try to change the user name in my arraylist from
Ted to Bob, but instead it adds a new user to the arraylist named Bob. Can
anyone explain why this happens and how I might modify a structure in an
arraylist without having to completely remove it and re-add the structure to
the arraylist? I just want to iterate throught the arraylist and change
items based on certain conditions.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I created a public Structure in a Standard Module and also
an array of Structures. Then I load data into the array
of structures in a public sub that I call on the Form load
event. Next I have a class, and I want to pass a
structure member from my array of Structures to the class
constructor. In the form I instantiate a class object.

I want to call a function using my own data type as an argument. The
declaration for my function looks like this:
Public Function CreateCardInfo(ByVal data As WoData)
VB.NET balks at this, saying:
'data' cannot expose a Friend type outside of the Public class
'frmMain'.

This users has been created on the remote server, and locally on our
web farm servers. All access to NTFS file system has been setup and the
users local privileges. However, when I add the

I have a Python module that I have written using the C API and I am
having a problem accessing a dictionary from that module.
Here is what I have done:
1. In my init function I call
module = Py_InitModule ("name", methods);
2. then I get the module's __dict__ structure:
dict = PyModule_GetDict (module);
3. Later, I insert a dictionary that I have constructed using the
PyDict_* API

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
