Hi, I've created an application that uses crystal report in VB dotnet
environment. I've created an MSI package to be installed on the
client pc to make the crystal report to work. However, the MSI
requires User Intervention. Does anyone know how to create MSI in a
silent mode in visual studio. This application will be pushed to the
client from the server and the MSI package needs to be in a silent
mode meaning all the user intervention...

I would like to install the .Net 1.1 framework on a Web Server running W2K
to be able to run ASP.NET files, but I'm not sure where to find the files I
need for the .Net framework.
I have ".NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1" (NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe) and
"ASP.NET Security Update for .NET Framework 1.1 SP1"
(NDP1.1sp1-KB886903-X86.exe).
The SP1 will not install unless 1.1 is already installed (I thought that SP1
was the whole 1.1...

On my dev machine (XP/Pro with VS.NET 2003) I have been developing a Windows
Service and installing it on the local machine by opening the Visual Studio
Command Prompt and then executing .
Now I want to test this service on a Windows Server 2003 box that doesn't
have the Visual Studio Command prompt.
How do I go about installing the service on the Windows Server 2003 box?

WE had a Crystal 8 WebApp using vs 2002 which we upgraded to VS2003. I also
have Crystal 9 pro on my development machine. The web app runs fine on my
dev machine but am having problems deploying. I created the websetup and
built the MSI, have the bundled version. Copied to webserver and ran
Websetup.msi. Said I had to remove old version, which I did, then reran
WebSetup.msi and keeps giving me this error. "The installer was interrupted...

I am considering creating a small utility to limit some display properties
on a computer.
This would be installed on 1000+ computers that may or may not have the .NET
2003 framework installed. Is it possible to create a "one click" install
package with all the custom settings pre-set?
Or, should I conider another language (besides VB.NET) to complete this
task?

Hi,
We are currently installing a DB2 V9 ESE on a Linux server
(RHEL4U4-x86_64). Installation runs successfully on each node. Database
user environment is OK and the instance is well created. To be sure,
we've started the database with db2start =successfull. And then shut
it down again successfully too.
The tricks appears when we switch the hp MC/ServiceGuard (A.11.16 for
Linux) package to the other node... the database does not want...

This is my first custom installer and essentially I needed to create one that
installed windows installer 3.1 then installed .Net 2.0 Service Pack 1. I
could not find a pre-packaged .Net 2.o SP 1 installer package anywhere so
this is my attempt.
The problem seems to be that when I first created it if .NET 2.0 was
installed it would not install .NET 2.0 SP1 so I commented out the line where
it checks but that leads the installer to try...
