Hi, I'm a SQL Server newbie, so I'd appreciate if someone would tell me if this is possible. I'm running SQL Server 2000 on Win2k Server I have one table with a large number of columns. I have two pieces of logic that I'd like to execute depending upon whether an insert or an update statement was executed on that table. I'd prefer this execution to occur from within a single trigger. If a row is inserted, then I would like to...

When someone modifies a field in a table, I like to find out which field he/she changed. Currently, only the LAST person to modify an object is saved. For example, if I modify an Application record, I will see "MyName" in the "tblApplications.UpdatedBy" field and the date and time I updated it. But it doesn't keep an historical record. We would like these changes to be stored in a file or a table or something. Please help

Greetings, I'm trying to build 7.3.4 and I've come across two problems, one during the configure and the other afterward. Problem 1) Trying to build with openssl support gives this: ../configure --with-openssl --enable-odbc --with-perl --enable-multibyte

I'm trying to load plperl to experiment with it in 7.3.4 with perl v5.8.0. I've basically tried the following: configure --with-perl, then initdb, then start postmaster, then createlang plplerl template1 No matter what I try, I keep getting this error:

Before I go deep into this - does anyone have the quick fix for this ? Some facts - the 7.3.4 version of plperl.c has the same errors in the 7.4 tree. The 7.4 version of plperl.c (with some error handling API calls commented out) compiles fine in the 7.3.4 tree. (Same machine - same install of perl !) Points to using some alternate perl API probably by macro collision ?

I am passing the whole object instead or parameters in my select and update methods. I can get the updated object if I set UpdateMethod, let ASP.NET autogenerate an update button, and then press update after making changes, but I don't want that update button. How can I get the updated object when the user presses one of my other action buttons?

Hi, I have an installation of Postgres 7.4.2 on SuSE 9.1. This version of SuSE comes with a binary for plperl and several other postgres procedural languages. All the others, including plpgsql install without a problem, but executing: createlang -u postgres plperl template1 produces the result: createlang: language installation failed: ERROR: could not load library "/usr/lib/postgresql/plperl.so": libperl.so: cannot open shared object...

Hi All... I'm been fighting this problem for a few days now, and it seems like it should be simple. But the solution has eluded me so far... I need to flag a record when it is updated or when it is a new insert. Then I SELECT for the changed records and do something not related to Postgres. Easy enough, I created a trigger procedure and fired it on INSERT OR UPDATE and modify NEW to set the flag field to true.

File /usr/local/pgsql/plperl.so exists.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
