Looking For Reliable Php Host...

Here's my situation. I am developing a site for an imaging business and we have been using Hostway. The I and customers have found on many occasions pages are not loading and scripts are not running. Also, I have been waiting a month to get a dedicated IP address so I can get an SSL certificate. Hostway is using Ukrainian or Russian tech support and they can never fully address my problem and the answer is always they will resolve the problem by this afternoon. They never escalate and I am dissatisfied with their ability to resolve my issues. I need a reliable host on a shared server running Php 5, that also offers dedicated IP, SSL, bundled GD library functions and 20-50 gb. Who do you recommend and why?

Well, I'm a newbie to the web site world... but here are two that I know a little about:

Dreamhost.com was highly recommended to me last year. I almost went with them when finally signing up for hosting just recently, but decided on godaddy.com instead... because as a newbie I needed the customer service aspect more than anything.

I'd had a domain parked with them for awhile, so called them up to ask questions. They are always professional. 24 hour customer service line. I've never waited more than a couple of minutes for a tech no matter what time of day... and the few times that I needed extra help, they were patient and spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me, until my issue was resolved. There was never a "let me call you back"... they solve the issue while you're on the phone.

The more seasoned programmers on this board may have differing opinions, but that's my 2 cents worth. Check out their sites. Dreamhost is running an anniversary special right now.

Don't be fooled: it's their anniversary every day.

@ OP: Simply put, you'll get more bang for your buck. I didn't intend for that to rhyme, either. If you want faster hosting, you'll probably have to pay more for it. A great host is HostGator.com
