How do you mean?

There are many php classes out there; I recommend PHPMailer or SwiftMailer.

thanks for ur answer markusn00b.

i want to know the mail functions and sending types for example,
in the administrator point of view,

i) manually we can a send mail to users.
ii)send activation link to their email address.

like that....

That's all done with the mail() function. Read up on it.
