I'm looking for a javascript-based rich text/wysiwyg html editor that can be
easily integrated in a php cms. I don't require any advanced features
(tables, images etc) , just basic text formatting.
Of course, it should be preferrably free.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

I just downloaded Notepad2 at the recommendation of one of this newsgroup's
posters. The URL is http://www.flos-freeware.ch/notepad2.html. It has
"syntax schemes" for many different languages including PHP, HTML, and
JavaScript.

I'm looking for a simple editor with PHP/HTML/Javascript syntax coloring
and a FTP-client similar to Dreamweaver's (with site projects). No WYSIWYG
and other crap you'll never need. Anyone seen one? I think there should be
markets for it.

Why don't you just use Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you use) and
connect to ftp://uploadsite?

It would be nice to have those functionalities in one program because I
use Dreamweaver's CTRL+U (upload file to site) alot. It speeds up
development dramatically when you don't have to switch programs in
between. Dreamweaver is little too heavy application and contains a lot of
unnecessary stuff...

HTMLArea is OK, and free. I don't like the html that it outputs much, but
aside from that it's good. http://www.interactivetools.com/prod...ndex.html#demo | | |

That's a Windows program - and is not "Javascript-based".

You're right... I didn't notice he wanted it JS-based until after I posted.
