What is the correct way to use Prepared Statements with mysqli in PHP?

I have done a good amount of research on prepared statements in php. The problem is that I have found various examples on how to select and insert information into a Mysql database. I want to make sure that I am doing this correctly.

Could anyone please show post a correct example of how to SELECT data from mysql via prepared statements via php mysqli() functions and how to INSERT data to mysql via prepared statements via php mysqli() functions.

I greatly appreciate the help.

Sincerely,
Ryan

Have you checked out www.php.net mysqli section for prepared statements? The code there is pretty accurate I believe. Why don't you post an example of something that you are doing. May be someone can point out an error.
