easiest method for secure data retrieval

1
i wouldn't consider myself a php newbie, but i'm admittedly a novice.

i'm posting secure form data to http://gateway.securenet.com/payment.scrnt, to process a credit card transaction; when i post data via my form, the page displays the return data in the browser. i need to dump that data into a variable rather than onto the screen, so i can access and return the results to the user.

i've attempted to use CURL, not sure if i'm doing that right, i've tried to make sense of php commands, file_get_contents, stream_get_contents, fopen, etc. but i believe the secure page doesn't like those commands.

any help would be much appreciated... mainly looking for the method, and please spell it out for me -- i can never tell if i'm reading too much or too little into instructions... :)

Heya, Ilenx. Welcome to TSDN!

If you are using cURL, simply add this line to your code:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. curl_setopt($curlRef, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER);
  2.
where $curlRef is the cURL resource that you created by calling curl_init().
