dictionary api

anyone know of a english dictionary component I can use to retrieve
word definitions from?

So something like:
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=test

but it either sends back XML or something like that or a local
component i can install? I guess I could scrape the dictionary.com
page but it seems there should be a better way.

I am using spell check already through aspell.

Thx!
