Hi,
i'm setting up a website with a forecast traffic of 70.000 sessions and
1.000.000 pageviews a day.
I'm in trouble about the short budget I have (about 10K $) and the big
traffic and so the best architecture I can set up.
Any Idea about I can do?
Thank you in advance,
Andrea

I have Apache 2 parsing and serving PHP files just fine on my winXP
box, however, when I try to add some mysql database functionality I
get a warning that looks like this:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in
D:\SITES\mysql.php on line 3
I am able to connect to mysql via the terminal just fine. Due to the
error "undefined function" I wonder if I set PHP up wrong or
something. Any ideas?

I have a members area full of video clips.
Clips are inside /hide/videoclips/ and /hide is apache protected directory
by .htaccess
Users can enter by a login.php (entering user and password) managed by
php, sessions and mysql.
When they enter I create a symbolic temp link pointing to
/private/videoclips so they can download the clips.
By the crontab I clean the temp link every now and then.
So if someone post the link...

I am running a Win 2000 professional machine on my desk
(unfortunately). I use Apache/PHP for test purposes, for running a
little intranet server, and I am going to have a student help me with
some coding.
Is there anything like the "nobody" id in UNIX where I can set apache
to run where it can't do too much damage?
thanks.

OK...
Crazy (possibly dumb) question here...
I have a site running apache, mysql, php in a Win2K environment.
Primary development is that env also. I also am setting up a linux box
(old laptop), to begin playing with Linux. I'd like to set it up
similiary with apache,mysql, php.
If I do that, and start doing some development there (Linux box) - can
I expect that when I move the php code to the windows box that it will
behave similarly...

Greetings,
I'm using an old computer - Win 98.
I'd like to install php/apache/mySql on it but there are many versions and
some do not recommend installing on Win98.
If somebody could point me in the right directions about which versions of
apache, mySql and PHp - or if there is a package suitable for Win98 that
would be great.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
