What is purpose of 'Tnsping'

Can u pl explain the purpose & usage of 'Tnsping' cmd

TNSPING is used to check for the connectivity to a particular database.

Follow the below steps to check for database connectivity:

1. Open Command Prompt

2. say TNSPING <Oracle Database SID>
