The INSTR function may be useful here.

obrhy8 June 18, 2004 Most compilers define EOF as -1. I'm just putting my toes in the water with a student's model named Miracle C. The ..h documentation of this compiler does state that when scanf cannot fill any fields it returns EOF. I have run some tests on scanf and, so far, I've not found an EOF return. For example: If the programer formats scanf for an int or

I have a function and am using cursor. All the columns I select in the cursor clause are BYTEA datatype. I need to compare the after-fetch-value for two BYTEA columns which is temp2 and temp3 shown as below. I don't think I can compare it because there is no record in temp table which I use for debug purpose. Does anyone know how to compare the after-fetched-value for two BYTEA datatype in pgsql's function? CREATE OR REPLACE...

Table DDL below: The tables I have contain Timesheet information. Each row in the tblTSCollected table contains an entry for an employee into the timesheet system, specifically by scanning the barcode on their badge. A whole bunch of business logic periodically attempts to "pair" these into logically matched scans. For example, some employees will scan in and out of a single place of work. For these there will be a row written to...

Hello, I need to compare two columns in two tables and to find the rows with partially matched result. For example, 'Jim' is deemed as matching 'Jimmy' and 'Jeff ' as matching 'Jeffery'. In Microsoft jet (or in sql server similarly) this can be done by using: "SELECT tableA.column1, tableB.column1 FROM tableA INNER JOIN tableB ON tableA.column1 LIKE tableB.column1 & %".

DB2 8.2 for Linux, FP 10 (also performs the same on DB2 8.2 for Windoes, FP 11). Using the SAMPLE database, tables EMP and EMLOYEE. In the followng stored procedure, 2 NULL columns (COMM) are selected into 2 different SP variables and compared for equal. They are both NULL, but do not compare as equal. When the Not NULL columns (SALARY) are compared, they do compare as equal.

I have 2 datatables. They are identical. I want to compare them by cell's content. They are all same. But dt1 == dt2 or dt1.GetHashCode() == dt2.GetHashCode() doesn 't work. There are big amount of rows in theese datatables . So i don 't want to enumerate each rows. This is not efficient and unacceptable for my current application.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
