We have a few developers that use Oracle 9i (9.2.0.4.0) on their
personal workstations for testing purposes. Recently, weve made the
decision to upgrade them to WinXP so that they are able to use some
other functionalities of the OS, but we are running into a totally odd
problem with Oracle. It seems that, Installing Oracle runs just fine,
and our ant scripts to build the database work well...but when we reboot
the computer, the database...

I'm posting this in hopes that it will help a few folks out when the search
Google Groups.
I was having the following problems with Oracle 10G:
1. When installing the database, the net config assistant would fail and I
would end up with no listener. Furthermore, I couldn't run Net Config to
create one.
2. I could not start the Network Configuration Assistant after a fresh
install of the 10G client on a workstation.

After a server created cookie is processed on the client I want it removed,
cleared, or expired in the javascript block but have been unable to do this.
If I set a cookie value in the server code behind and don't use a domain
then I can not change or remove that cookie's value on the client. If I
subsequently create the cookie again in the codebehind then I actually end
up with TWO cookies with the same name in the response. The cookie...

Hi all,
I am trying to work out how I can use impersonation to connect to an Oracle
9i database such that I can avoid sending a clear text username and password
to the Oracle server.
We are using Windows 2000 and IIS 5.0. Currently the database and the
Webserver are running on the same machine (which I'll call MyMachineName)
Until now I have been using a connection string in the web.config file on an
IIS Web Server as follows:

I was messing around with the native ODBC module (I am using Python in
a Win32 environment), e.g:
import dbi, odbc
....and it seems to meet my needs. I'd rather use a module that comes
natively with Python if it works (don't care about performance in this
particular use case; just that it works).
The only issue I've had so far is retrieving data from Oracle when an

Is this a bug? I am trying to write a cookie that can be accessed by
various .Net applications on our domain. However, whenever I add the
domain property to the cookie, no errors get thrown but the cookie
doesn't get written. I am trying this from my localhost using
vs2003, .net framework 1.1, windows xp prof. Sample code I am testing
with is below.
Public Class WebForm1

Hi everybody,
I'm trying to use the new VB 2008 right now and I want to know how to preset
the company name and copyright informtion in Assembly Information. In my
current VB 2005, company name and copyright information (the word "CopyRight"
with company name and year) is filled in automatically once a new project is
created. However, I have no idea where I can configurate it in my new VB
2008.
Thanks for your kindly advice!

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
