Cubegeek.com - Multidimensiona l Thought for the BI Professional

Hi,

This is Michael Bowen. I've put together cubegeek.com as a new and
hopefully exciting site for the BI professional to network, share get
information. This is the industry's first portal built from the ground
up to support cross-vendor applications. I'd like you to join us.

We are at a turning point in our industry. The demands are greater
than ever. The BI professional needs to know more about n-tier
environments, UNIX security, ERP integration and products from
multiple vendors. Just mastering one technology is not sufficient in
today's environment. Cubegeek.com is designed to gather professionals
of different disciplines in the BI space.

Whether you concentrate on front-end design, Java application servers,
RDBMS, ETL, OLAP, project managenment, security or sales, you will
find something useful at Cubegeek.com.

I've been waiting to put this site together for a long time. Almost
two years in fact. The idea first occured to me when I was working for
Dan Druker at Hyperion's new eCRM division. Products and ideas were
coming around so quickly and there were so many people to communicate
things to, there was no way to keep on top of all the information.

The main thrust of Cubegeek is to provide a forum for more than just
technical stuff, but industry happenings and cross-vendor information.
I want it to be a comprehensive site where people can share war
stories but also download metadata, talk about best practices and have
a bit more selection and options than with simple USENET groups or
mailing lists. You can post news stories, contribute to the downloads
section, get and send private messages and participate in polls. Now
we as professionals in this complex and fascinating industry have our
place to speak out in a congenial atmosphere which is not controlled
by anybody selling products. The potential is great.

It will take some time for this site to grow to critical mass, but as
long as I am in the industry, I will contribute. But I think you will
find many ways to contribute as well. So welcome and enjoy. This
site's for you.

Michael Bowen, headgeek

Hi there, Just wondering, if there is any way to have a dynamic / unspecified size of an array? It obviously needs to be updated, deleted etc. The only way I thought is by making the array massive at the start? Any other ideas? Apparently Hashtable, ArrayList etc are useless as they all take one dimension. :( Please help me! Thanks, Naomi

I'm working with displaying and manipulating very large image sets. The program handles anything from 2D images to 4D RGB volumes in a time-series. I've been using dynamically allocated arrays to accomplish this, but having recently added the ability to load and display 4D data, I've run into some significant performance issues. For a dataset of size 256x176x176x1, it takes about 30 seconds to allocate the array. Loading the data into...

Im trying to scan a file using fscanf and want to put the results in a multidimensional array (since C has no strings I need it to store names). Basically I want to be able to have a multidimensional array of names that were scanned in order that the file had and be able to access each one by using array for example, to output one of the names. Im very bad at multidimensional array syntax so am asking for help, I could post my code and...

I am trying to figure out a way to change the below code to store data in a multidemensional array rather than a listbox. The reason being is I need to be able to pull each "currentrow" and manipulate the position of each "currentfield" to then imput this data to another source as a string. The delimited text might look like the following. acctno, name, expdate,cr_line 4428123456789012,smith,0807,5000 4428123456789025,williams,0908,15000

Hello again, I have another question about the handling of multidimensional vectors. Actually, it's not difficult when the size is known at the beginning, but I still wasn't able to create dynamic vectors without knowing the size. I want to create a vector which contains a vector of ints: vector<vector<int values; I tried to add the value 35 to the first position of the first vector

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
