First thing you need to check is that the column for which you are changing datatype is empty. If the data exists in the column then you will not be able to change the data type of the column.

secondly, Please provide what exactly is the error so that our experts could help you out in a better way.

Select Cast('100.1234' as float) give me the result 100.1234 Now when I convert it back to char I want exactly 100.1234 Select Convert(char(100),Cast('100.1234' as float)) Gives me 100.123 (Here I was expecting 100.1234) When I do Select STR(Cast('100.1234' as float),25,4) I get back the result as 100.1234

I don't think i get the right results in the program below. unsigned char array1 = { 0xde, 0xc2, 0x44, 0x23}; //I'm not sure in what order the data is stored so i try both ways. unsigned char array2 = { 0x23, 0x44, 0xc2, 0xde}; float *pfloat1, *pfloat2;

For example, the string input is '12.6' but the output is '12.6000003814697' The following is my code to do the convert: float fBalance = (float)System.Convert.ToSingle("12.6"); Should I specify a format string for the convert? Thanks for any help, CT

I have a float variable which I need to add to a short variable. How do I do this? Do I have to typecast or is there a way around? I tried typecasting the float to a short, but that gives me a 0 or +/-1, which is unacceptable. Any pointers to how to get over this?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
