Merci d'avance

I hope I correctly understand the question...

When the application connects to oracle, the service name (TNSNAMES.ora
defined service) determines to which database the application connects.
therefor, an application may use (or be installed on) more than one version
of oracle. however, if the application does not prompt for a service name,
the application will use the default database service (as it is defined in
the tool's environment)

I hope this helps

Machine translation (should be interesting):

I have developed a VB application that uses Oracle 8i database for backend. The database server is on the local network. From my development machine, the application connects (via ODBC) to the database successfully. The problem is that I want to install this application on several Windows 2000 client machines that do not have Oracle client installed (hence missing all the ODBC connectivity support files/drivers). What is the minimum...

I have been searching but just can't find the info I am looking for. I need to write some functionality in a C++ program that will correctly determine the Oracle client version. Scanning the registry does not work because we have noticed that users with multiple Oracle homes have 'inconsistent' registries. In other words the registry may or may not indicate the version or Oracle that they are currently using. From what I have seen the...

Hi. We had a PC that had Oracle Client 8.0.5 and 8.1.7 installed in Default_Home (c:\orant) and Default_Home1 (c:\oracle). A third party package, installed certain components of Oracle Client 9.0.2 in another Oracle Home which it called ora92 (c:\oracle\ora92). Since we no longer need Clients 8.0.5 and 8.1.7, I decided to uninstall all Oracle clients and install Oracle client 9.0.2. I used Oracle installer to

I had her send me her tnsnames.ora from her PC. The entry I wanted was as follows (some letters replaced with xxx for security reasons):

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
