In LAN, packets are distributed using "MAC Address" and in WAN, hosts are identified by using "IP Address"

Hi all, This isn't minimal code, but at least it gives the idea reasonably well - and yes, I'm a newb :( The point of me giving this code is that all three vars look to my eye as though they're being treated in exactly the same way, so that I end up confused about why the address-of-char doesn't get returned the way the other...

Hi, I've read several questions and often the answer was 'C knows nothing about .' So if C knows that little as some people say, what are the benefits, I mean do other languages know more or is it a benefit that C knows nearly nothing (what I can think about is that C is the largest common divisor defined on most available platforms)?

Hi, I'm writing an application in which a client (C#/WinForms) and server (C#/service) interact with one another. The client establishes a "session" with the server but for scalability reasons there is not a one to one map between a session and a physical TCP connection. A client may disconnect the TCP connection if it is idle for more than...

Hello all, I am newbie in Networking. I have just started studying Networking. I have a doubt " Do every router/gateway determines physical address of other router or systems prior to the delivery of packets? If it is so then what is the need of IP address?" Please help me to understand core networking concepts. Thanx and regards,

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
