Domain controller

how I can depromote an additional domain controller from the domain controller, when I am trying with dcpromo, it shows an error that "Logon failure: The taget account name is incorrect ". Pls help me

Make sure the old server is not conflicting with the new one as far as services are concerned, I assume you transferred everything manually and brought the new Domain Controller online before depromoting the old one.

Let me know if you were able to solve this.

Now I don't need my additional server, for that I tried to depromote and disjoin from the domain, then I got this error : " Logon Failure: Target account name is incorrect "

you can do dcpromo/ adv

then it will tell ask you to continue, then tick YEs-> then it will again ask you if its the last domain controller, just tick yes, then wait until it finishes,
