A company wants to implement MIB devices for 24 locations. They are using SNMP protocol and want to manage their SNMP from the corporate location. I was debating if I use SNMPv2? And the assignment wants basic operations, though I'm not sure what basic operations they want. Set-Up operations? operations to manage the network?

Why would you use SNMPv2? Also, to have functioning SNMP infrastructure, what would you need to set up? What talks to what and how?

This is a problem I was trying to help a few friends figure out for fun. I am not sure how to go about this, but there is something I am missing here. Here is what we want the output to be: Need to read in a time period from the keyboard (for example 1.2 seconds, 3.4 seconds, or 8.37 seconds). Once the time has been read in, we want to print out the word “TICK” and then wait the designated time period and print the word “TICK” again....

In 1996 I started BJ Pinchbeck's Homework Helper at www.bjpinchbeck.com which became quite popular among young students throughout the country. Now that I am 20 years old and attending Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, I decided it was time to start a new site, BJ Pinchbeck's College Companion at www.bjpinchbeck.net that could help students prepare for and survive the college experience. College has been a very positive...

Hello all, I have an odd requirement. I have a column with a system generated username that is a 6 character, alphanumeric, field. These usernames are randomly generated by code. I need to create a stored procedure that will return all combinations that are not already being used. Maybe the result of still trying to wake-up from a long weekend. But, I cannot think of an easy way to do this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
