Problem with clustered servers

3 New Member
Hi, Hope someone can help.

We have a web site with 2 clustered servers say A and B, the session state is held on a seperate server in a SQL database say C. If we turn off either A or B then the site works fine but when both servers are active then occasionally the redirect from one page to another does not work. For example you click on a button from the home page which should redirect to another page but it stays on the home page.

Any ideas.

Thanks.

Hi all, At work we have 2 servers in a cluster for our web apps. One problem we have experienced (along with many others!) - is that if a user is logged into one of the applications on server a for example and it goes offline or fails their session is lost also - even though the application becomes available on server b. I have heard that it is possible to either exchange the sessions between

Hi All, I want to lock 2 tables on 2 servers using TABLOCKX hint. These tables function as semaphores in my application. It means when the tables are locked then other users will not be able to access them and automatically they can not continue their works. I have tried using the following code, but it does not work. I always got the error :

We are using ASP.NET State Server in our applications to protect session state from machine.config and IIS recycles. We also may cluster the servers in the future. We don't have the resources to setup a test environment so I was hoping I could get the answer from here. I came across http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q313091 to create a static machine key that I will place in our servers now so that if we ever...

Hello, all, I started out thinking my problems were elsewhere but as I have worked through this I have isolated my problem, currently, as a difference between MSDE and SQL Express 2005 (I'll just call it Express for simplicity). I have, to try to simplify things, put the exact same DB on two systems, one running MSDE and one running Express. Both have 2 Ghz processors (one Intel, one AMD), both have a decent amount of RAM (Intel system...

Hi all, I have a MS SQL server 2005 in a clustered environment (with 4 physical servers/cluster nodes). I need to move the cluster to another office, which implies that I need to reassign IP addresses of all cluster nodes as well as SQL servers (goups) installed on this cluster. Is it possible to change the IPs without damaging the cluster? If so, could you please provide me with some information on this subject?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
