Problems Activating XP Pro

Ok, so I have a HP xw4200 with a valid XP Pro registration key, in fact it
came on it already installed.
I then bought a second-hand computer that needed Wnidows installed on, but
that also had it's own valid registration key.

Now, like an idiot, when installing XP Pro on the second computer, I
accidently put the registration key from the xw4200, but I realised before it
could activate it online, so I reinstalled XP Pro putting in the correct
registration key this time.

Now I've reinstalled XP Pro on the xw4200, but it won't activate it anymore
with the legitimate registration key.

I'm hoping I haven't ruined it, so can anyone help me or guide me in the
right direction? I just want to be able to get both computers running right
with their own valid XP Pro registration keys.

Use the phone activation option, then wait through the options until you get
to speak to a human. Explain the situation.

In future, your Windows questions should go to a Windows group. Here's how:

As you appear to be using a web interface:

http://www.microsoft.com/communities...s/default.aspx

Click the + beside your language. then scroll down to Windows. In Windows,
find the Windows XP category . Open it and find a group for your
question.

Don't know much about XP - you might be better posting to an XP forum.
You could try contacting Microsoft - they may give you a new product
key
you get to the toll free number as follows ( with vista - don't know
about xp - but see if it's similar)

http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/84...sta-phone.html

Seem to remember hearing with XP you could save the wpa and wpa.bak
files to a cd then copy them back in safe mode after reinstall to save
calling microsoft to reactivate - from that extrapolate there might be 2
sets of these on your second computer ?

Hope that helps
